"My second stay at The Glen, friendly staff/owners. Different room this time round but really spacious, clean and with all you would need for a break away. Breakfast is still really good with a wide selection and freshly cooked. Ideal hotel for my needs being situated close to family and excellent for days out within the Borders and close to Tweedbank for the train to Edinburgh with free parking. Would highly recommend and will definitely stay again."

"Enjoyed the property especially the pool.enjoyed the nearby restaurants and the fish and chips. Enjoyed the view of the Castle and also Craigmillar Castle nearby. Access to the bus station and train station was an advantage."

"Apex always seems good value for money. It is in a very convenient, albeit crowded location, but our room was very comfortable and quiet. Very near all you want to see in Edinburgh. There is a tunnel at bottom floor that gives you an easier access to the train station...much better than fighting the hordes on the main street. Did not use any of their amenities as we were only in the city a short time, but would definitely recommend."

"Convenient location, newer, hotel, excellent Aircon, laundry facilities, small market next to reception for last minute sundries, and TWO WORKING LIFTS! The only con, if I have to give one, is the Murphy bed is a little noisy while trying to sleep. Even though the hotel is located on the Royal Mile, we didn’t find the road noise all that bothersome."

"Really enjoyed our stay there. Unfortunately the lift was out of order but the staff were really helpful in bringing our cases up and down the stairs! Staff were friendly. Atmosphere was great. Highly Recommended – Fantastic Location in the Heart of Edinburgh We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 6 Market Street and would happily recommend it to anyone visiting Edinburgh. The location is hard to beat—directly opposite Waverley Station and right in the heart of the city. Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, Princes Street, excellent restaurants, and many of the city’s major attractions are all within easy walking distance. Our first room wasn’t ideal, but the team handled the situation exceptionally well and promptly moved us to a much quieter room without any fuss. The room was spotlessly clean, and the bed was one of the most comfortable we’ve slept in during our travels. A unique bonus was the complimentary in-room minibar, which is replenished daily with drinks and snacks—a thoughtful touch that we really appreciated. The staff were always friendly, professional, and eager to help. My only suggestion for improvement would be to ensure the front-of-house team has a deeper knowledge of Edinburgh’s attractions, restaurants, and local amenities. In a city with so much history and character, knowledgeable hotel staff can add enormous value to a guest’s experience. Overall, an excellent hotel in a superb location, and we would stay again."
