"Unfortunately, my stay at Rio Del Sol in Needles, California was one of the biggest disappointments of my Route 66 trip. The room was unbearably hot, and even with the air conditioning set to 61°, it never cooled down. After a long day on the road in the desert, that made for a very uncomfortable night. The amenities weren’t any better. The hot tub was so excessively hot that my friend was actually burned after only a few seconds in the water. The sauna wouldn’t turn on, and the pool looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in quite some time. Considering this hotel is often recommended as a Route 66 stop, I expected much more. Sadly, the experience did not live up to the reputation. I would not recommend spending your money here and would look elsewhere if you’re planning a stay in Needles."

"Great staff, tired dirty hotel. Public areas were very smoky restaurants were expensive and the food, with the exception of breakfast, was awful. Outside space was very nice, especially the beach. Bring your own shade or pay to rent a palapa- $100/day on weekend and $50/day during the week- in June! Lots of large groups with small kids. The pool was as full of little ones. Not good for couples."

"My wife and I have been stopping here while traveling over the last 10 years. This was the first time we stayed and booked a room. The room was amazing, with a great view! 2 super comfy beds, and a huge shower. The room was clean and the staff was very amenable! Our only gripe was the pool was a murky and dirty, granted this was the Monday after a long Memorial Day Weekend. It was encouraging to see the pool fully drained and being cleaned the following morning! Every other time we've stopped here the pool has been amazing. By the way the food is always good, and the drinks are strong!"

"My family stayed here for 3 nights and wow, it is our favorite rental we have ever stayed at! Not only is the location perfect, but the space is huge and the house is stocked with everything you could ever need. Everything from the quality of the beds, the towels, the beach chairs, etc felt fresh and clean. We will absolutely be coming back to enjoy another family vacation at this property. Thank you for everything!"
