MGM Grand Hotel & Casino

2/10 Terrible

"We decided to stay at MGM Grand primarily because of its large pool complex. However, we were disappointed to find that only one pool was available for guests to use due to a convention. This restriction was not mentioned anywhere when we made our reservation. We were also surprised that the pool hours were only from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Those hours seem very limited for a vacation resort. Many guests spend their days exploring Las Vegas and would like to enjoy the pool in the evening after dinner or a short break. By the time we returned from sightseeing, the pool was already closed. Overall, the limited pool access and early closing hours significantly affected our experience. Unfortunately, because of this, we would likely choose a different hotel for our next visit."

"Everything is good except where we checked out and wish to return to the room to look one more time after we were just entered our vehicle because one family member might have been left their jacket inside. We return only within 5 minutes while the maid is cleaning the next door unit, we asked politely if she can open the door on 21023, she said no, you have to call the security, we understand there are rules and regulations that she must follow, so we don’t wish to be too hard on her even she has the master key to get into any room. We waited about 25 minutes the security showed up and I presented my ID just to show that I’m the person who rented this room, and she opened the room and gone. We think that the management could have justified the situation for the maid is already there next door besides the fact that I’m a CKD patient, any prolonged period of standing will make me very tiresome and I’m forced myself to stand there for a total of 25 minutes. I felt very miserable and discomfort at the time, but there isn’t anything that they can do at the time except to follow their rules, but I do think that the management can justify the situation and bend the rules a little."

"We arrived at 4 PM and check-in was supposed to be at three. Our room was not ready whatsoever and we still had to wait another 15 minutes. There is no valet there whatsoever. Supposedly we had the newly renovated room. There was rust on the light fixtures, horribly in our bathroom. Went to the pool on Monday and my husband bought a blowup cornhole for the kids to play in the pool from the store in the Excalibur by the pool and the kids and us were constantly harassed by the staff stating that we cannot have that in the pool then why do you sell those things? Finally someone stated we were OK to play with that since we bought it from the store, but by that time we were all over everybody harassing us. We will never stay there again."
