We were lucky that someone else with a valid code opened the door for us. I reported the problem right away and no one came to fix the issue at all. "Hotel Vellir was a great place for our trip to Iceland. Rooms were very clean and staff were super helpful and friendly! When informed we would be leaving early in the morning, staff offered to make us "to-go" breakfast bags in case we didn't have time to sit down. Location is especially good if you have a rental and plan on exploring the southern coast and city. They helped make our trip amazing and I highly recommend them!"

"The room was nice and spacious, and the owner went above and beyond in service. there are two hot tube in the back, as well as a scandinavian sauna. A spacious lounge allows for viewing the northern lights, and there were snacks and refreshments to grab anytime. heavily recommend."

"Very strong sulfur smell both in the building and in the immediate surrounding area. Building is very clean and well kept, but do not expect breathtaking views or beautiful scenery.
