"I was supposed to stay here for 9 nights, but I left first thing in the morning after the first night and went to a hotel. The beds were actually air mattresses with one small blanket, and there were no lockers or anywhere to put your belongings except in the room, where they got in the way of others or could be stolen. Between people screaming their heads off in the middle of the night and pushing others, the broken shower, and the disgusting toilets, I would recommend sleeping on the street...

"This Hostal Gala is a perfect stay to visit and walk around the center of Madrid, close to everything! Since it is a hostal, don't expect to find conditions like in a hotel. "Spotlessy clean room in a good location at an affordable price. Right next to bus and metro stations and heaps of dining options close by. Hostel staff were great, from check in to cleaning to accomodating a late check out. Noise from other rooms is easily heard so bring the ear plugs to ensure a good nights sleep."

"The accommodations are simple but clean. Excellent location very near very good restaurants, and a metro station is barely a 5 minute walk from the nearest metro station (Tribunal). The only drawback is that one must walk up a couple flights of steps to enter the property which can be rough with lots of luggage."

"This place was good to hole up for a couple days and rest. It's a 20 minute bus + 30 minute train from anything worth seeing as a tourist so if you hope to see Madrid this is not the place. It's in an industrial area and the only place for miles around to eat is the hotel bar/ restaurant across the street. Great staff but not great food. No view from the room and a tiny tv like a laptop screen. For €33 a night it was worth having a private room if you wanna get out of hostels for a bit. One...

"This was by far the worst hostel I’ve ever stayed in. The posting is very misleading as the hostel doesn’t look anything like the photos provided. There is no signage or indication of the hostel from the street. You have to knock on a door and you’re let into what looks like someone’s personal kitchen. There's a small, dirty kitchen with the owners sitting in folding chairs, 2 dorms, and 2 bathrooms. Both dorms are extremely crammed in with almost no space. Your head will be directly against...
