"This is a great hotel to stay in... close to but not in Bath. Its old world charm is lovely, with high ceilings (and the occasional wonky floor!). Leave the car at the hotel and take the bus from the river bridge into Bath. Dining options are excellent with a buffet-style full English breakfast and a range of dinner options."

"Right opposite the train station so very handy for anyone who has mobility problems. Much quieter than I was expecting and the bed was extremely comfortable. Bedroom had plenty of supplies - including Earl Grey teabags, a cafetière and ground coffee, biscuits etc, also towelling robes and slippers. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. No food service after 6pm but within a short walking distance of many restaurants and bars. "

"We love the Bear at Rodborough. There is so much character, it’s relaxing, the staff are lovely and the food is amazing. The Chateaubriand was out of this world. One observation to the owners though is that since removing the restaurant carpet to reveal the parket flooring is that the acoustics have been negatively affected. Some decorative sound deadening would be very welcome. "

"Hotel staff great. Hotel room great. Breakfast however was buffet style i didnt complain but should have. 0830 ish went to breakfast. Bacon cooked crispy but luke warm sat on the side.sausages cold beans cold eggs greasy fried and cold mushrooms cold. Hash brown cold fresh toms grilled but cold. £12.50 if i was in a mellow mood should of asked for money back. "
