"Lovely quirky old hotel but bathroom layout poor, could do with removing bath and putting a shower only, it would be much safer. Reception lady at 2pm was very abrupt and just said “check in not till 3” we only wanted to let her know we had parked in the patrons only car park. Breakfast staff and checking out lady, lovely."

"Such a shame this is a tale of two halves. Staff all lovely, helpful and go out of their way to help you. The problem is in the cleanliness and upkeep of the premises and rooms inside and out. A lot of money has been spent on the rooms but not cleaned properly and why have a posh coffee water heater for beverages in room which you cant fill up under the tap??? "Very quirky property, full of history. Stunning gardens and views across valley. Room and en suite very clean and nice comfy bed. Definitely recommend reading the welcome file in the room, has to be the best I've seen. Charming host and the breakfast was delicious all locally sourced produce."
