"We had a fantastic 3 night stay here for a family wedding which was in nearby location. Our room was spotlessly clean and well appointed with a huge walk in wardrobe and a decent supply of hangers. We had dinner on 2 nights and the food was of excellent quality and very generous portions with a great choice. "Property is very old. 350 years old. That is very cool. Close to castle, old church and old houses with thatched roofs. Other than that this hotel is very gar from everything. At least 25 min. While the experience was good. I would not choose to stay here again"

"I was disappointed that the hotel charged for parking your car in their car park. For me no hotel should charge their guests a fee for parking. Also when I got a drink of coke from the bar it was served from a plastic coke bottle. The drink was flat. Although the rooms were comfortable and spotlessly clean I found the hotel to be soulless and very matter of fact. "

"Centrally located so we were able to walk to many shops and restaurants as well as historic sites. Parking in the back made it easy to drive to other cities and sites. The staff was very accommodating and worked around our schedule for room maintenance."

"Characterful and convenient, just off the M4. We had a lovely room (particularly liked the bathroom configuration) no 9. Noise from the motorway is only intrusive if you are not expecting it. Suited our needs perfectly. "

"We really enjoyed our stay at The Stroud Hotel. The staff were welcoming on our arrival and we enjoyed an excellent meal and well prepared cocktails at lunchtime (I can highly recommend the risotto.) There was everything we needed except milk for the room but we were given fresh milk on request which, whilst lovely, wasn’t necessary as small cartons of UHT would have been fine for our short stay. "Beautiful building and a lovely patio with tables and chairs and beautiful gardens with easy access to the footpath by the canal. There is a nice sitting room with a bar by the entrance. My room was quiet and clean, the bed was comfortable. Plenty of hot water for a bath. The only things that weren’t so great: my room was quite dark and the wifi didn’t work at all throughout my stay."

"The room, toilet and bath facilities were clean to a very good standard and the decor was tasteful and restful. We had a lovely view over the Nailsworth Valley. We were well-pleased with the accommodation which suited our needs admirably. The evening meal in the restaurant was nicely presented and was delicious and enjoyable."
