"When we arrived we had been allocated a different room to the one we booked. It seems this was due to miscommunication from Expedia to the hotel itself. However the staff on the desk were very helpful and resolved the problem within a few minutes. Rooms are spacious and the small kitchette is a huge bonus. "

"A very nice place to stay in a new part of Aplerbeck. We loved the perfect breakfast buffet. Every detail was considered! Amazing. I love the electric water kettle & porcelain mugs for tea or coffee making in the rooms! Wonderful, better than a coffee maker, which leaves us tea drinkers with a terrible taste. "All good but when I tired to check in the receptionist told me I can't stay in hotel becouse I don't work in Germany. After long conversation I was allowed to stay. In the morning was very loud noise from out side. There is garage very closed to hotel. Overall good service,very clean, nice room."

"Hotel Alte Redaktion is a lovely hotel, newly renovated. It is directly off the main road of Gevelsberg so very easy to get around by foot or car from the hotel. I stayed in a double room and it was a good size. The common front area of the hotel is a welcoming place and good for a beer and a chat with other guests. Finally, the staff are wonderful, friendly and helpful. Debs at the front desk was very cool as was the breakfast crew. Thanks for a great stay."
