"This wasn't a hotel, this felt like home. The staff are amazing. Jorge treated me well. Adrian was the night shift, he and I chatted all night. Vanessa was there during the day. The food is incredible. My room was cleaned every day. They arranged for me to sight see and take tours. My phone was stolen at the beach in Varadero (2 hours away). Vanessa offered to have me use her phone to call my family. She organized a taxi for me to get a phone and SIM card while I was there. The next day was my birthday and I was a little sad because I lost my phone. They made cake and sang for me on my birthday. They made sure I felt at home. The place was quite. The first floor is the lobby and eating area. The 4th floor is the roof top where you have breath-taking views. The hotel is in walking distance of Malecon. I was walking there at 10PM and at 5AM. I felt completely safe! Sit and talk with the staff about the background and culture. It's a free experience and you will learn a lot! I am planning to return to Cuba and will stay here again. This was an amazing experience because of the hotel staff. "

"A great stay started well before we arrived. Amanda shared some super helpful guides on navigating cuba and thinking about hwo to budget/what money to bring. She also helped us plan activities, understand how to change money and book restaurants for a small and reasonable fee that made our trip stress free. The cooking experience surpassed our expectations. The casa is beautiful and has everything you need including great breakfasts and her super cute dog Sorpresa to greet you when you arrive home! Amanda made us feel at home throughout our stay and her reccomendatuons were all fantastic! It is situated in the newer part of Havana near the main street leading to the central park and a 10-15 minute walk into Old Havana. Perhaps not for people with mobility issues as there are a few narrow stairs up to the casa but if you can manage those we would 100% recommend staying here and we would come again if we come back to Cuba"
