"Lovely period hotel with good decor and clean throughout; staff also friendly and helpful. Only minor gripes were noisy creaking floorboards in room above and inability to get on the Wi-Fi. Gave a low ecofriendly score as unable to reduce room temperature (other than opening a window) and shower gel and shampoo in individual disposable bottles. Great place to stay though :-)"

"As for the hotel and location it’s great spot ! For sleeping to hot , Train noise and pillows lumpy not nice at all . One receptionist a bad attitude on arrival it was 2pm with the word WHAT . I said we would like to book in answer ! NOT TILL 3PM . Shoot me down ! "

"A nice hotel, but I was disappointed with my last day. I stayed for 5 nights and asked for a late checkout on the final day, only to be told checkout latest was 11am and every hour after would be a charge of £30. This seems a little extortionate and as a frequent traveller and user of this hotel many time before, a little user unfriendly. I understand they have to clean the rooms and make ready for other people, but surely there is a more customer friendly way of dealing with this. "

"We booked this stay for our daughters birthday, all the staff were fantastic throughout our stay. The reception were great with our daughter, they noticed it was her birthday and gave her a nice jar of jelly beans. The room was clean and as expected, facility's were great especially the pool area. We had a buffet breakfast in the morning, the selection was plentiful and all the food was good quality and presented well. We will visit again."

"My Sister and myself stayed for 2 nights at the Maldron Hotel recently and we were very thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The room was spotlessly clean, the food was excellent and we cannot praise the staff highly enough !! They were very friendly and approachable, and went out of their way to help with any queries or help we needed. Excellent Customer Service. We will definately come back and recommend to family & friends. X"

"perfectly situated for an early morning flight, bed and room very comfortable, on concern is the amount of light inside the room, we found the rooms to be rather dark on each of our stays, even when we had all of the lights on and the curtains fully open."

"Perfect location. From our room we were lucky enough to have an amazing view of the Tyne Bridge. Presenter drinks on the outdoor terrace were lovely and a swim in the pool was a great start and end to a busy day sightseeing. Would highly recommend! "

"Thin walls, but who cares, people sometimes are loud. It's may, the weather is gorgeous, so the outdoor tables were packed. Restaurant staff were terrific. My window looked out onto a black metal tree--oh well. Conveniently located, and easy to find. Skipped the breakfast."

"I booked this hotel due to it's facilities and wasn't disappointed with my ability to use the pool and hot tube. I will say though not the worst mattress it was very hollow in the middle and mostly in need of a replacement. My friend who slept on the single bed was quite happy though."
