"bad, terribly kept rooms and dirty"

"Lovely hotel with pleasant staff. Our room was a great size with a bathroom that had a deep bath and a walk in shower. It was all very clean. There was air conditioning in the room that had to work hard as it was nearly 30° and it it did a great job! There were plenty of spaces in the car park although there was a parking charge. Took us about 10 nins to walk into the main area of Chester. We didn't eat in the hotel so unable to comment on the food although we noticed the dining room looked...

"The hotel is nice. The hotel pub is the same. And the staff is polite. The coffee machine DID NOT WORK in the room. You couldn’t even put the mug (from the hotel room not my personal one) to pour coffee in it because it is too big. In the room there are no sockets. I wanted to charge my laptop and other devices, I didn’t have where. There are two “sockets” on one side and the other of the bed STRICTLY for phone cables. Meaning you insert the cable directly. "Air conditioning, toilet and sink had some sort of maintenance issue. However, the front desk clerk moved us to another room where things were much better."

"The castle and its grounds are stunning and great to explore and the village right outside the gates is lovely too. The roaming peacocks were a true highlight as well! Unfortunately the room was not very clean and quite worn down, specially the bathroom. Breakfast was ok but the food at dinner was unfortunately not recommendable"
