This is a lovely new hotel, very helpful friendly staff and one of the very best Onsens we’ve experienced in Japan (this is my third trip). Really fantastic- new, clean, three pools- outstanding. The hotel is 35 minutes S of Hakuba by car and an hour by shuttle bus, and the shuttle only runs to and from once per day so without a car you don’t have many options. Omachi, the nearest town is a fairly long walk. Recommend having a rental car if you stay here.

Wow this was such a highlight of our trip! Def wortg the trip! The onsen was amazing,the rooms were beautiful ,the dinner and breakfast experience delicious,and the staff super sweet. One thing to note, this is about an hr bus ride from Takayama station! We cut it really close because we didn't realize how far it was, if you get there after a certain time,they can't serve you dinner so plan accordingly

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Room was excellent with an amazing Mountain View. Full amenities and top notch service. Staff goes above and beyond and are personable and friendly, even as English speaking tourists. The breakfast was delicious and a perfect mix of made to order hot dishes along with a large spread of buffet items. The best hotel in Hakuba if you want a luxurious and relaxing experience.

Miyama Ouan offers an authentic Japanese cultural experience in beautiful high country/alpine location. Meals were of a variety of ingredients, delicious and always beautifully presented. Miyama Ouan rooms are very comfortable, warm, beautifully cleaned, with private and public onsen. The Hirayu location is in close proximity for bush walking, sight seeing, and to the cable car and bear ranch.

Stayed in the glamping tent with my family of four (including a 5 & 9 yr old). Such a wonderful spot - tent was comfy w/ a dedicated toilet/sink room in a separate adjacent little building. Had a wonderful fire pit which the staff lit for us in the evening at the time we requested (on our was back from dinner we texted them from their very helpful app). The condition of the cabin is super and as described. It is super clean and have all kitchen amenities available, probably more than my own kitchen. The check in process was smooth. The host was super fast in responding to email, usually an hour. We left behind a stuffed toy and they will help us ship to our hotel in Tokyo. Excellent service, highly recommended. Will probably stay in the same place next time to Hakuba.
