"A small but well run hotel. 4 stars maybe an overly flattering term. I believe it has a rather dated set up with standard amenities. Staff were polite and helpful. In all, it's got everything but somehow lacked charm and sophistication. Bus stops, metro and eateries are very close within a few minutes' walking distances. Shame they provided free shuttle service to/from airport not suitable for night arrival or departure."

"During showers, water from the shower in the bathroom on the top floor (Unit #16) leaks onto the floor. There is also a hole in the glass door where we believe a doorknob may have been installed. Water splashes through this hole as well. "

The combination of an idealistic location and a fitting accommodation to meet the beauty of that picturesque locale overlooking the Douro River and the Dom Luis I bridge. My wife and I loved this hotel, and the busy areas in the daytime became a quiet sanctuary with seemingly private views in the night for our February stay. The hotels style is a perfect blend of rustic aged beauty, with modern touches. Loved!"
