Staff are pleasant; however, when I reported issues with the room, they did not offer an alternative room and said they would send someone to fix the issues. No one ever came throughout our stay. "Me and my husband stayed for a night at The Gate Hotel. Staffs are very polite and helpful. Thank you to Hillary Gonzalo for being so nice and making sure that we're please with everything. The room is very clean and the bathroom is updated and very clean as well. Its so sad that it was only for a night coz need to go to Lisbon. Location is great. Highly recommend to my friends and will sure comeback for more time to explore beautiful Porto."

"What an exceptional hotel in the heart of the Ribiera district. Walking access to most of the Porto sites. We had an apartment on the 2nd floor that was totally quiet even though we were in a bustling river area. Hotel staff were helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was just what we needed for an active day of exploring this beautiful city. I highly recommend this hotel."

"The room we had simply was not as advertised. The photos & description show a second or third floor unit with a private balcony and a large bedroom, we were put in a ground floor unit where the “private terrace” is simply a slightly fenced off section of the patio space open to all guests. Shower was moldy and the room smelled mildewed. There is no check in or concierge—everything is communicated to you via an AI chatbot. No concierge means bags can only be stored in paid lockers on-site...
