My only issue was I was lead to believe that the hotel was next to the train station and in walking distance. 30 minute walk with luggage is really not doable. The hotel does not have staff, which means you have to auto-checkin (which is fine), and solve any issue remotely by phone. "Beautiful creek side gateway to forest just below granite peaks. Restaurant is good. Setting is as close as one can imagine to be heavenly. Weather was great so that helped."

"The Appenzell area is a gorgeous rural area with phenomenal scenery. The hotel and town are traditional Swiss architecture with a very welcoming atmosphere. The staff was friendly and the rooms comfortable. This was our favorite area in Switzerland 🇨🇭. "

My biggest praise goes to the staff who went above and beyond helping me after I injured myself and needed a lot of assistance, outside of normal hours too.
