"We were there for just one night, prior to a cruise. Getting a taxi the next morning was an issue, as there were 4 cruise ships in port. We were travelling with 4 others, so got 1 taxi for 2 and big luggage, and the rest of us walked to the terminal, a 45 minute walk. Weirdly, the hotel is in the middle of a traffic circle, easily crossed to a beautiful park, close to high street"

The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast options were very varied and well prepared. Also, we unfortunately discovered that we had left some items at the hotel when we got home. "Stay OK, I usually stay here, more out of habit now (better the devil you know)... but a few tips. 1. room position is important. No aircond, so May to Septmeber can be hot. Make sure you're on the East carpark side, other side is much hotter. Also, make sure you're away from the lifts (noisy talking lifts, noisy people... the further you are south the less people walk by shouting, and bratty children). 2. Carpark now running at 90% capacity minimum... Often no parking after you have paid...

"Everything was lovely, especially liked the extra touches in the bedroom for my daughter (mini robe and slippers, wash set, play book and crayons, plus a cookie). The only let down was this morning at breakfast they were 4 staff short we were told and it was very clear in the service, we waited over 20mins for our drinks, our whole breakfast went were in there about an hour and a half which made us slightly late for check out, it was a shame as it left an amazing stay with a bad ending."

"Lovely, comfortable and clean room with a wonderful bed and blessings. We had a huge freestanding tub but used the shower stall which was a wonderful shower. Teapot and coffee cups was nice. The garden is a great spot to sit and relax and enjoy a beverage from their bar. No elevator but that’s expected in an older building. Great location for a nice stroll to the cathedral and many restaurants. Easy 10 min downhill walk from the train station so request a taxi the night before needed to return...

"Disappointed with the breakfast. Arrived at 10am (still 1hr of service to go) and they had run out of bacon, fried eggs, scrambled eggs and about 2 sausages left. There was also no bread for the toaster or teabags. The pancake machine was also showing an error message. Several guests were milling around trying to find something to eat, complaining of poor choice and having to wait for stocks to be refilled.We had to wait at least 10 minutes for fresh supplies of the hot food to arrive."
