"This property was a downer. Coming from the US at 1am in the morning in this dark house wasn't the first impression I had imagined. But I understand that it is a very small private property made into a hotel which it is not. It's more like a BnB. Room was small and bathroom was smaller. It's fine for one night at the rate you won't find anything else in town. Airport is pretty far from San Jose city, about an hour outside. This property was only 10 minutes from the airport so that was great."

"The staff was very kind and courteous. It is a family run business as are many smaller hotels in Costa Rica. We felt safe and secure. It was a very basic room , but it was clean and comfortable. Again, the staff was the best."

"Dirty, dogs barking, no hot water, not possible to sleep"

"AC was ancient and noisy, unable to control the temperature, the front door window was cracked, like it was hit by something or someone. Not very comforting. Very disappointing."

"I arrived after 10pm so could not get the shuttle, however the host was nice and I had no problems getting in (they buzzed me in right away though the door was closed for the night). The bedding did not look or smell clean. I travelled so long I accepted my fate but if I was remotely awake I would have asked them to replace. I chose a double and it was a double bed but also two (unused) bunks in the room. I slept there as the sheets looked fresher. The hotel is in a very cool building and common areas were very neat. Staff was all friendly, at least on check in and in the restaurant where I waited for my shuttle after checkout. The food I believe is from next door and was delicious. Location is right in town. Overall I would stay here again for the price and value."

"Beautiful historic hotel. Really nice breakfast with fruit, several choices of main course. Beautiful plants. Very nice staff. Rooms at the front were noisy as the little street in front is pretty busy. "
