"If I could rate it a million stars, I would! This is the perfect, peaceful quiet Portuguese experience. We stayed here because it was close to the wedding venue we were attending. The staff were all so kind and helpful, the pool was the perfect cool temperature with plenty of lounge set for everyone, and the grounds were gorgeous. "Our stay was relaxing and enjoyable. A slight delay with check in at 3pm. Our room wasn’t ready til after 4pm. I suppose it is to be expected in peak summer season. They stored our bags and we had a quick swim. Our luggage was delivered to our room and we received a bottle of wine in our room chilled ready to enjoy. The room was fabulous with gorgeous views of the Douro Valley, and the pool area relaxing. Room service was delicious and convenient. The staff were very helpful and accommodating to all of our requests. A special mention on the excellent service of Rui Cardoso. We booked a wine and cheese tasting experience on our first day. Thank you Rui for explaining all the different cheese and wine pairings. Thoroughly enjoyable. Breakfast was extravagant with a wide variety of food and beverages and a great coffee machine. Delicious. Plenty of car-parking available. Thanks for a great stay. "
