"I do not have enough superlatives for this place. Fantastic location (10 mins walk to the lake and 10 mins walk into the centre of Ambleside), unbelievable value (free parking and at other car parks in nearby towns). Alison was so welcoming and the room was gorgeous. A really lovely stay with our two dogs who were made most welcome too! Fantastic breakfast included with plenty choice, we won’t be staying anywhere else in the Lakes now!"

"Great variety of hot, cooked-to-order breakfasts as well as wide range of continental items, all of which were great quality. We were also offered tea or fresh coffee and fresh juice that was brought to the table, along with toast. Room was comfortable and cosy. We had a balcony room overlooking Ambleside high street. Room was generally clean, just a few attention to details missing such as on the towel radiator. We ate in the restaurant ain’t the evening, enjoyed the food we ordered (main and dessert). We had an Irish coffee in the bar afterwards. Would be nice to have a drinks menu in the bar offering a wider selection/few cocktails as there was only a wine menu. Service was great throughout our stay. We used the pool which was nice, really liked the outdoor spa pool. The steam and sauna were ok but didn’t have very good seals around the door so the didn’t reach the high temperature I’m used to. "

"Very pleasant small property. 5 mins walk from central Ambleside. Well equipped and warm. Perhaps a bit small for a family of 4 but great for two people. Nicely decorated with thoughtful touches. Only one parking space but a car park 4 mins walk down the hill. Would recommend."

"Thoroughly enjoyed staying at this property, my room was perfect & I have to say 1st time I’ve stayed in a hotel & I’ve stayed in lots in the USA & have never had a towel warmer & a towel that actually wraps around you ,absolutely loved it Thank you "

"Great Hotel, really friendly staff, meal choices good. Parking is a bit restricted and tight albeit there is a public car park next door, whicjh I didn't need to use.Chris when serving us was outstanding. Will use again, highly recommended"
