Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa

"Lovely hotel with marina views. Rooms well equipped and spacious. Range of toiletries in the bathroom. Friendly staff and a good atmosphere. However, for the cost of the hotel, I was disappointed with the following: As a 'dog-friendly' hotel, we could not eat in the main restaurants with our furbaby. We had to settle for a limited menu in the bar area. The meals were lukewarm when they were served, and we had to send 2 of the 3 meals back and wait for them to be recooked. The replacements were piping hot. The same restaurant issue arose the next morning regarding dogs; however, we were able to go into the restaurant and bring the food through to the bar area, which had been set up for others doing the same. The produce was high quality but had obviously been out for a while, so eggs, sausages and bacon were quite 'dry/overcooked'. Very disappointing."

"Completely blew all expectations! Really lovely property, perfect location to wander into town with lots of shops and plenty of choices for places to eat, to head off for a beautiful walk out on the trails or activities on the lake. It’s a short drive to other popular spots like Grasmere for gingerbread and caves! The host was a pleasure. Really friendly and super helpful. Breakfast in the morning was fab and we really enjoyed our stay here. Would absolutely recommend."

"A nice little hotel in the town centre. Although there is onsite parking, visitors could find overnight parking at the nearby Lake Road Car Park. The staff are great and friendly. Breakfast and a welcome drink are included."

"Lovely room with lakeside view; beware it is uphill to walk up to the Lakehouse, this didn't bother us however. Easy to check in at the Waterhead Inn which is just accross the road. Breakfast was your standard fare but tasty. Helpful staff. Stayed 2 nights."
