"Warm welcome. Friendly and attentive staff. Tasty breakfast and clean rooms. Towels exchanged every day, same for coffee and room tea station. Good restaurant nearby but on the expensive side. There's limited parking available in front of the building. However, there's an alternative parking lot just a 2-minute drive down the road, and the owner provides a free parking permit. Please note that the WiFi is currently not functioning."

"A lovely hotel in the heart of Ambleside. Our balcony room was in an annexe just a few steps from the main hotel. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the outdoor jacuzzi in the spa was a lifesaver in the immense heat we have just had. The food in the restaurant was lovely, breakfast was a continental buffet and hot from the menu and the dinner choice was very good and well priced."

"Can't fault the hotel in the slightest. When we arrived, we were informed that there was loud music on that evening until 11pm. Not the end of the world, but with two young children on their last legs at that point, it wouldn't have been ideal. After informing us they had no alternative rooms further away from above the main stage, the staff were able to secure us a room at their sister hotel The Waterdge Inn. Everything was transferred seamlessly, and for no extra cost. They didn't have to do that. There was absolutely no obligation to do it, and yet they offered the chance, and they sorted it out for us. Can't rate the hotel itself, however if the facilities and accommodation are anything like he staff, then anyone would have a wonderful time here."

"Melrose Guest house is a beautiful place to stay in the Ambelside, Lakes National Park, and Windemere area. It is conveniently located in town by restaurants, ships, and trails. The room was spotless and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing every day of our stay. This is the place to stay in Ambelside!"
