Kusasenri (Kusasenri Plateau, 草千里ケ浜) is one of the most iconic sceneries in Kumamoto Prefecture. It is a vast grassland plateau with grazing cows and horses, as well as a commanding view of Mt. Eboshi (in the background) and the currently active Mt. Naka (far left of photo, with dark billowing smoke). Pampas grass have already covered most of the area signaling the coming of autumn.

"Amazing stay, they made us feel special and really welcomed us (even with a small gift) as we stayed here two nights for our honeymoon. There isn’t too much in the vicinity to do (walkable distance less than half an hour or an hour) but still a very beautiful and comfortable property I really enjoyed staying at with my husband. "

"We had such a lovely stay at Oyado Takeakari. The house is very beautiful, cosy and comfortable and has lots of great details. The garden is very nice as well. In terms of amenities, everything you can think of is there. The host is very kind and helpful and very quick to respond to messages.
