"Absolute gem of a place with stand out friendly staff, amazing location. Our room even had a view of St Peter’s basilica which was beautiful at sunset. When we return to Rome we’d happily choose Mama Shelter again. The pizzeria was excellent (service not superb in there but pizza was great). There are some great food options around the area, we ate a typical Roman breakfast opposite Cipro Metro station. There’s a Carrefour (make sure you get a discount card as this can save you a fair bit), and Cococ was excellent a few strides out of the door, for a breakfast also (they do evening meals there). We didn’t have breakfast in the hotel, it was quite pricey at €22 each - you can get a lot more in this Prati neighbourhood for much less "

"The receptionist told us she didn’t like Expedia. Told us our free breakfast, that we purchased, we did not get and paid for. We booked hotel because spa was part of our hotel experience, per Expedia. However, they made us pay 59 euros each and then added taxes. They were supposed to be included! "
