"Pools and beach was great and the drinks too. We don't like the buffet and the restaurants the food is terrible flies everywhere. The room has a lot of mosquitos."

"The property is beautiful and clean. The food in the buffet was average resort food, but had many options. The restaurants for dinner all had very good food, we did Dominican, Italian and then the steakhouse. There is only way to make reservations for those dinners though so you have to make those early on your second day stay. The beach was gorgeous and the pool very big and clean. I thought the music at the main pool could have been so much better though. The staff was mostly friendly, especially Vivian Celeste at the front desk, she was super nice and helpful. She decorated the room for my daughter’s birthday as a surprise. I liked the cars that were mostly always readily available to take us from the lobby to our room or the beach or wherever we needed to go. Jasier was one of the drivers and he was so pleasant, friendly and very helpful. My complaints would be that many times at the buffets (there are 2) it was hard to get someone to come over and take our drink orders, and seltzer was scarce. I also hated the fact that there was an Expedia ambassador being super pushy and constantly trying to bring us over to a different resort to sell us our next vacation. That was annoying and misleading because she didn’t provide all the details until we were far from our resort and told us that the meeting would be 45 minutes. I ended up leaving her and avoided them after that. Be aware of those Expedia ambassadors! Overall it was a beautiful resort and we had a great time. "

"The resort is too spread out walking forever to getr a coffee or ice cream would be an issue for many travelers. The staff was the spectrum from rude and stand offish to the other extreme to vey friendly and nice definetly not as warm as the staff in mexico but I knew that prior to going. The room AC is very cold and you cannot adjust it was an issue as well. If you do not go uniques as we did good luck getting into any of the specialty restaurants. Of all the specialty restauranys El Charro was definetly the best the French had rude staff so that was a big disappointment.Mareas was noisy and the lobster was a poor quality. Asador the steak house was fine and so was the unique club restaurant the staff was good as well. the unique beach was nice with great water but the issue on the weekend was the boats docked offshore blasting music all day ruined the atmosphere. Entertainment was one key reason we chose this resort and it fell flat on it's face!! We have been to 24 other resorts in Mexico and the caribbean and know what to expect low quality entertainment is the standard. However here the entertainment was repetitive and boring nothing to do in the afternoon especially on rainy days which we had a couple of only thing to do is drink or sit in your room boring!!!. the buffet did offer the best variety but should better identify what the food is especially for people with food allergies. This was our first and last trip to the DR it's not for us and definetely not worth "

"Restaurants are good. Just the reservation system needs to be improved - you need to line up at the booking desk between 9am-4pm to make reservation. Many guests don't look at the menu before lining up. They browsed through the menus at the desk one by one and then decide which restaurant to reserve on which night. This makes the wait time very long. They should implement reservation using their Melia App. And you may not be able to go to certain restaurants during your stay because their capacity and open hours are not enough to fulfill all the requests. The nightly entertainment was a big plus for our stay. However the day programs are not always on time. Sometimes you just wonder if it will "happen" or has been cancelled. The resort has a great courtesy allowing us who have a late flight to use their facilities and buffet after checking out. We enjoy ourselves a couple more hours before heading to the airport."

"The pictures (of the pool etc) on the website probably don't do this place justice. The pools are fantastic and we had them pretty much all to ourselves each day. Defo need car/taxi/Uber for getting to local shops a walk is not very nice."
