"The entire staff was fabulous and it is unfortunate that I do not remember all of their names, despite the fact that everyone of them knew my name. A special thank you to Maria at the adult pool. He and his team were very attentive to our needs and made us feel as though we had the pool all to ourselves. Also, all of the drivers provided exceptional service as did the breakfast staff. The concierge’s were always on top of everything providing a worry-free experience, we thank them all. Hotel Sofitel Baru is a hidden gem that we definitely plan to return!"

"Yall I stayed here with my 15yr old son for spring break 2025 about a week ago. It was decent and had what we needed. Ocean view, air conditioning, refrigerator and bathroom. There was no microwave but that’s okay because there’s a grocery store walking distance a block away so we got snacks and ate out everyday. The beach is literally right across the street so that was a big plus for us. The room was clean, we had two twin beds, there’s breakfast in the mornings (you will have to pay). There’s also options to get dinner there but we weren’t in the room that much and definitely wanted to try out all the restaurants around town. There’s 24/7 security which was extremely nice and a private cap driver that will take you around if you need him. We used Uber but just to know if we needed other options we had them right there. I would definitely stay there again. It’s super close to the walled city (clock tower), Getsemaní and Bocagrande. The most I spent on an Uber the whole week we were there was probably $7 so I can’t complain about anything. Thank you IBIS for making sure my son and I felt comfortable after exploring the streets of Cartagena. "
