"All the staff were welcoming and friendly throughout our stay . The room was of a high standard with some nice touches - very fluffy towels - comfortable bed - good range of tea and coffee. Pleasant area with nice walks - safe and quiet - ideal stop off if on long journeys North or South with relatively easy M6 access."
"Excellent Stay for the price. Nice room and grounds are lovely too. Was quiet couldnt hear anyone else areound us . Pool, jaccuzi, sauna and steam room all well kept and clean. Free filtered cold water around the hotel which is nice as I prefer filtered when I stay away from home. Staff were friendly and for the price just cant fault it."
"The hotel was impressive. Our bedroom and bathroom were quite small but very well designed and very comfortable.
The continental breakfast was very basic and should at least have included some toast. We therefore ordered off the breakfast menu."
"We loved our stay at the Ancient Gatehouse. The room was lovely and looked out over the green in front of the Wells Cathedral. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the hotel has an excellent Italian restaurant, where we enjoyed a delicious dinner before walking around the lovely town of Wells. Americans should know it is not air conditioned, but air conditioning is rare in the UK and Europe. There is a fan and lovely large windows. We will definitely return."
