"The hotel is pleasent and based in the centre so it's ideal to get to all areas within a few minutes walk. The rooms are a bit 'tired' and rough around the edges, but clean. Our mattress was a bit tired as well but managed to sleep OK. We also sadly had a room over a through route from the centre so lots of noise from groups walking through in the night. But this won't affect all rooms. Overall would I stay again, yes. Value is good for a central area. Parking is available but is limited so getting in early is recommended. "

"The whole hotel was generally a bit “tired”. It’s a beautiful building in a lovely location, but needs a refurbishment now. The staff were mainly helpful , breakfast wasn’t the best though . The spa needs some TLC also."

"The accommodation was good although they were undertaking refurbishment works to the corridor where I was accommodated. Breakfast was very good. Bed was comfortable. Staff were good. Could not get into the restaurant on one evening - so booking is required. The snack bar was just ok, nothing to write home about. Parking was easy - lots of space. The grounds were good to walk around. Would book here again."

"We used the spa which was lovely, everywhere was clean and tidy could have done with a refresh on the bed head board , staff very good, breakfast a bit disappointing as it was in pots to keep warm , which sort of steamed everything"

"The hotel is VERY tired. It needs a lot of money spending on it, but if it did, it would be fantastic. Staff were really good but not enough of them. The guy on reception seemed to be doing everything. The swimming pool was really good and the gym looked good as well, but I didn’t have time to use it. We had a bar meal which was perfectly fine and a reasonable price as well. I hope the owners spend the money to bring the buildings up to scratch, ( a new coat of whitewash on the outside and complete redecoration on the inside would help immensely). We only stayed one night and for what we paid, it was perfectly fine, but I wouldn’t want to spend more than one night there though…"

"A reasonably nice hotel. Book well ahead as it fills up really fast when something is on and the price doubles. Breakfast is over priced and varies in price depending on whether you book it the night before or on the same day. Which is odd."
