"Exterior is somewhat run down but rooms very clean. Door lock needed to be adjusted, hard to open with key but eventually worked: front desk very responsive. Had two dinners at Smoke Pizza—great pizza and calzones as well as delicous brownies! A little hard to find coffee but good coffee is available at the Maverick gas station."

"This little cabin was overall fantastic. You leave the paved road for a dirt road, but it's compacted road base, and is basically paved. Any vehicle will make it fine. The best part was the stars! It's a dark area so you can see all the stars. The heater works great for the main room of the cabin. Kept everything nice and toasty. The bedrooms were chilly, even with the doors open and fans on. But you don't notice once you're in bed. The wifi was good. (I tested 10meg down 7 meg up) Everything was spotless clean and well cared for. Two downsides: 1st the bedroom that has the back door has air leaks in the wind. You can feel air coming in on the north wall. This is common with log cabins, but didn't help with the cold. 2nd the beds are really not great. With some upgraded mattresses this would be one of my all-time favorite vrbos. But the sleep was so so."

"This is a charming motor in that is well-maintained and still has some character from the early days of car travel. The check-in went well with a friendly manager/owner. The unit was clean and comfortable and even the in-room coffee was tasty! The room has a small fridge, which is great for cooler stuff, and a microwave. There's a small breakfast but I left before it was available. Definitely value for the cost and fun to stay in an old-school motor lodge. I'm happy to support such a business."
