Gasthaus Hof

"This historic hotel is located in the heart of Appenzell and has a lovely restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. It is a short walk from the train station, is clean and charming and rooms have comfortable beds and bedding. The included breakfast is plentiful and delicious with good coffee :) The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating - when we had to check out very early at the end of our stay, they packed us a delicious lunch to take with us on the train the night before we left since we would miss the morning breakfast. Travellers should note that there is no AC due to preservation rules for all hotels/historic buildings in Appenzell - when we came there was a heat wave so it was unusually hot, but we opened our windows at night and it cooled our room off enough so we could sleep. We highly recommend Gasthaus Hof!"

"A Wonderful Stay, With One Note for Housekeeping Our stay at Walhalla Hotel in St. Gallen was fantastic, and we’re already looking forward to coming back. The service stood out, especially from a lady at reception who had just joined the team. I’m sorry I didn’t catch her name, but she was consistently warm, always smiling, and full of great local recommendations — she made a real difference to our stay. Breakfast offered excellent value for the price. I’m not usually a big breakfast person, but I enjoyed it, and my kids loved it too. Our room was spacious and comfortable, easily fitting the three of us. Small touches like the automatic windows were a nice surprise, and the floors and overall finish were great. The Molton Brown toiletries in the bathroom were a lovely detail too. The one area for improvement was housekeeping. While the staff were friendly, they always seemed rushed — the floors were often left dirty, and the bathroom floor wasn’t properly cleaned. They’d make the bed and swap the towels, but the actual floor cleaning was consistently missed. This is meant purely as constructive feedback, as everything else about our stay was excellent."

"We recently stayed at the Mullers studio on our road trip through the Alps. The area is beautiful and very quiet - places close around 9.30. We found an amazing swimming lido about 10 minutes walk and realised it was half price after 5pm so spent our nights there. We booked a studio so didn't have any amenities for cooking however the studio was spacious and gave us enough space. We did have issues with the Aircon which my husband solved and an issue with one of the blinds. We did report this however had to use towels to block the light and move my child's bed down the ladders for him to sleep. The honesty bar and coffee was a HUGE hit with my husband. We would definitely stay again"

"We loved our stay at the Radisson in St Gallen , well located just 2 stops from the train station, The front desk staff were wonderful Michelle and Gentrit specifically , they tried to solve any little issue . The junior suite was very confortable, the only problem was that the safe didn’t work and they tried to fix it but they couldn’t. Breakfast Buffett was good . It was a holiday so the bar and restaurant didn’t open the whole weekend we spent there . Would come back again :)"
