If you are arriving before 3pm you will need to pay for parking as the hotel only covers from 3pm. No place out front to unload baggage. Need to go around the rear of property into paid parking."

"What a find this place was. We needed somewhere to stay and shelter from Storm Dave rather than risk the campervan. We were lucky enough to find the family room at the String of Horses. Amazing food in the pub, amazing and super friendly staff, especially the lady who sorted out brownie pieces for my ten year old rather than the Sundae dessert version. The breakfast in the morning, ordered from a menu rather than buffet was delicious with great options. Added bonus was how close the pub was to all the Hadrians Wall forts and activities which we also stumbled across the next day on our way to Scotland. 5 stars, 10/10, if I could give more I would."
