"the bathrooms have signs in them that say fire alarm may go off due to steam in shower be sure to kerp door closed during and immediately after showering. Sure enough not because of a shower in my room the alarms went off at 7:15am and it immediately sounded in our room but stopped after 15 seconds but you could still hear it at other end of hotel. Fire truck showed up and were gone with in 10 min. Can only image how many trips the firemen make it there every werk?"

"Parking was almost impossible Saturday evening probably b/c of an event scheduled. Phones not answered when tried prior to arrival. Short staffing probably was the reason for the dishes , glasses etc. covering all tables in lounge area on Sunday morning. Otherwise this is a beautiful hotel and we will book again and hope for improvement In these areas."

"Where to begin. Every inches of this property was filled to the brim with friendly helpful knowledgeable and kind staff. Even in the restaurant. The only bummer was coffee is not automatically in the room but going downstairs wasn’t the end of the world and you could ask for a French press to be delivered. Peaceful Norwalk River setting and the train was charming and relatively quiet."

"We have stayed here numerous times. It is quiet and tucked away in the woods. We noticed this time that amenities are a bit tired. From a toilet seat that was loose, soap dish in poor condition and an air conditioning system that is so loud that it sounds like a car revving it’s motor all night long. In our opinion, a 4 star hotel needs to keep things fresh, new and make sure things are working properly. "

"Owners are working on upgrading and doing a nice job. Bathtub needs a tub mat (dangerous without one) and a hook or two for robe or PJs. AC worked great (it was 100 degrees outside one day) and beds were comfortable and room was clean. Room #s very difficult to see attached to brick, especially at night. Overall, we’ll be back. View of the river was lovely, though it was too hot to sit outside."
