"visited during covid so was perfect, as a the cottage is a little isolated in small village, would have missed a village shop and pub we could walk to in normal situation. However these amenities were only a short car ride away. Lovely walks were on the doorstep of the cottage and lots of amazing countryside and places to visit all within a hour in the car, so a fantastic location. We were a large party of ten with five children who loved being able to spread out in the spacious accommodation....

"Lovely stay at an amazing old building. 14 adults and a 2 year old stayed for 3 nights for a family weekend away. Loads of bedrooms and bathrooms, a huge dining room and a large farmhouse kitchen meant there was plenty of room for us all. Beautiful garden and peaceful location. Don’t expect modern furnishings, fixtures and fittings and be prepared for uneven floors and very little wi-fi connection but it is warm and comfortable and kitchen very well equipped."

Cosy ex Railway Cottage with WiFi & EV charger

10/10 Excellent

"Had a lovely stay in this railway cottage. Had everything we needed and booking, comms, access etc was super easy. Out all day walking, we chilled out reading in the conservatory early evening, followed by dinner and binge watching later on. Perfect!There are sheep everywhere and some loose wandering up and down the road so careful if you have a dog. We went to The Green Dragon at Little Stretton for a meal which has an impressive vegetarian and vegan menu.Shrewsbury, Much Wenlock and Bridgnorth were lovely to visit with some great walks. We did a lovely 8k walk in the Shropshire Hills starting from the National Trust car park at Church Stretton Carding Mill Valley (finishing in the cafe).Stokesay Castle (Eng Heritage) is also worth checking out. I've never seen so many housemartins and swallows nesting. Finding suitable walks near the cottage was challenging as they all have styles... trying to manoeuvre a big 23kg saluki over these was hard work. If you've got a little dog you'll be fine. Enjoyed our break in Church Stretton and enjoyed exploring this beautiful part of the UK."

"Lovely b&b would definitely stay again! Food absolutely delicious in the pub and for breakfast (using locally tour ed ingredients) and great choice of both food and drinks. Super friendly staff, make you feel very welcome and they’re really helpful! Rooms comfortable and the air con in bedroom was a huge plus! My Bathroom (room 2) had a huge bath tub and a shower with great water pressure and temperature. WiFi free and excellent throughout the building. My only very small issue was that the walls are thin to the corridors and you can hear guests walking to their rooms but to combat that the hotel provide ear plugs for each guest which was very helpful! Cannot hear anything from the pub itself though. Plus it’s not a huge place so not loads of guests passing so not a big deal but I always like to put pros and cons for balance if there are both. I otherwise slept well, bed was comfy! There is a beer garden to the rear of the pub which is lovely. No specific parking but ample community parking with no issues and no payment required. I’d definitely return without hesitation!"

Old Downton Lodge

"Needed a place close to Shropshire to visit rellys - my wife found this online and the photos and reviews were stellar. The longest, twistiest single lane country road with flocks of bantams took 15 minutes to reach the lodge from theain A road. Crazy! Fortunately, no one came the other direction so only the wildlife provided the hazards. The lodge is a converted barn/stables/something old and quirky. It has wifi and very polite staff. Nod to Winter and Tomasz who made our first night with great wine and cider, nibbles and such. This is a fine dining restaurant (no room service) and what is on the menu is just that- no exceptions. I overheard that the menu does not change much; seasonally I think so maybe not dine here for your entire stay as it is rich dining, too. Not a fan of rich fancy dining but it was well prepared and presented. No AIR CON but a fan is supplied to make you feel the hot air circulate around you. Breakfast was very good locally sourced fare. Really very good. The lodge is close to Ludlow where they have many concerts which must be fun and certainly would look at making this part of our next visit to this part of the world but be aware only small twisty roads so no motorways and plenty of slow moving heavy farm machinery to ensure a long leisurely drive."

"Wow! What stunning home! This has to be one of the nicest places we have stayed.We spent a lovely, relaxing week way with our two children (16 & 14) and dog, just walking, visiting local towns and just chilling. The dog really enjoyed the huge garden!!The lack of internet and minimal mobile phone signal was actually a plus, as it meant we got time to do things as a family.The property had pretty much everything we needed and those things it didn't, we worked around it.Lovely owner and neighbours. Will definitely be back again. Highly recommended!"
