About this property
Cozy Lake Cabin - 10% Discount for August 2025 Bookings
Please reach out if you need an immediate booking! We have a large kitchen with plenty of counter space for cooking together. It has almost everything you need to make your stay enjoyable: a bread machine with a cookbook, a slow cooker, a pancake griddle, a coffee maker, and a Barn wood dining table that easily seats 8. There's a comfy living area, Internet, WIFI, Satellite smart TV, lots of movies, novels & kids' books, & 2 full bathrooms. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has a log bed with a futon mattress under it that can be pulled out for more sleeping space. Bedroom 3 is large with 2 queen beds along with a TV/DVD player with a good collection of kids' movies that makes a great kids' room! :) Bedroom 2 is very cozy. There’s a covered patio at the back of the cabin. A front upper deck is in the shade for those hot days. We have a BBQ on the back patio & a fire pit in the backyard with firewood in the woodshed and kindling in a wood box by the back door. We also have firewood and wiener sticks in the blue shed beside the fence. We have Ladder Ball, Botchy Ball & the Corn Hole game. We're close to the lake, the local grocery store with a restaurant, a great hardware store worth checking out, and a gas station a mile west on Highway 13. Our cabin is just 100 yards from the lake where small aluminum boats, canoes & other small watercraft can be launched at the end of the road that leads into the lake. There is a main boat docking area east on Lakeshore Drive. Our cabin is not fancy & classy but we're clean & cozy! :) We have a pontoon boat and are happy to take people out fishing for an extra charge if given a few days' notice to ensure we're here. We're close by on the lot next door if anything is needed. There are a few places you may enjoy visiting. ~ One is the Grey Owl Meadery - just 10 minutes from the cabin, west on Highway 13 and south on Highway 22. We’ve been there a few times & the owners are friendly, have free wine tasting & great charcuterie boards. Here’s their phone # & link for more info: 780-542-1413 https://greyowlmeadery.com/. There's a new shop just 10 minutes straight west on highway 13 close to Alder flats that offers specialty coffees, sweets and a place to shop for household signs, candles, soaps, jewelry etc. It's called 'The Place'. ~ There's also Open Creek Dam located less than 30 minutes from the cabin. It’s great for swimming, fishing off the dock (stocked with trout) and they offer free day use at their picnic sights & have a beautiful hiking trail around the lake. I’ve included the link here for more info & directions. https://rimbeyfishandgame.com/open-creek-campground. ~ Twin Lakes is 30 minutes away east on Highway 13 and is a great swimming lake! :) ~ Ponderosa City is 20 minutes away west on Highway 13 and offers an Old western town and shop with western apparel, gifts, and kids' items. They can be reached at 780-388-3088 ~ There's a children's playground just a few minutes from the cabin at the Buck Lake Community Hall and after playing, you can walk over to our local Buck Lake Mercantile for an ice cream cone or a slushy, or for you parents, a freshly brewed cup of coffee. :) They also make some very great fresh options like salad rolls, green onion cakes, spring rolls, cheese sticks, etc. which can be ordered in advance and picked up on Saturday morning. They recently opened a restaurant and the food is all homemade and delicious! They also make fresh pizzas and subs for take out. They have great bakery options as well! The owners are Brendon and Phea (Peaya) & they are very friendly and aim to please! They can be reached at 587-986-0452. ~ There's a small café at Alder Flats, about 10 minutes straight west on Highway 13. It's located above the car wash and they do a mean burger and have great caesar salad along with other great options. ~ Every Saturday we have a good size farmers market at the Community Hall from 10 to 1 pm.

Was absolutely fantastic, felt right at home!! Jack and Bev were fantastic hosts. Lake is hop-skip and a jump away with incredible fishing! 10/10 would stay there again! Thanks again Jack n BevRyan and friends.
I was so happy with my stay the fishing trip was amazing the Hosts are 2 very wonderful people. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get away.
We absolutely loved our stay here. The hosts were very accommodating and communicated with us anytime we had any questions. The cabin was very homey and clean and very well stocked for anything we might want. It was definitely a home away from home and we would highly recommend it.
4 friends stayed for 3 nights. The beds were comfortable, the house was cool in the summer, everything provided. We met the hosts and actually played cards with them. It was a great weekend.
When I say we loved Bev and Jacks beautiful cottage, that's an understatement!! We came for a girls get away from the city to be in nature and peace, that's exactly what we got!
The inside feels like home, you feel like you belong and relaxed. You get to see the passion and love they have for their property throughout - if you think you need anything extra, you probably don't, they have everything you need and more that you wouldn't think of :)
The outdoors space is very beautiful and we spent both days and nights out there as much as we could to enjoy the beautiful weather we were blessed with!
I could go on and on but this review would be a short novel - lastly, Bev and Jack were incredible hosts. You felt comfortable and welcomed by them to their space. Anything you needed, a reply was quickly received and help was happily given! Very accommodating and a beautiful family overall :)
1000/10 - we will be back!
P.S. You must check out the Grey Owl, they weren't kidding, it's also incredible and the owner Walter is amazing as well! The view, the food, don't miss out on this one!!
Very nice cabin in a quiet area. Perfect for a family get away. Owners are very accommodating and easy to get a hold of. Looking forward to staying again.
We had a fantastic long weekend getaway at this great property. Clean, well stocked and lots for the kids to do. The hosts were nice and the communication with Bev was incredible.
Wonderful place to vacation and feel like you’re rested
Clean, cozy, super well equipped with hosts that ensure your stay is a success. Thank you Jack and Bev for making our family vacation a success this year!
We had a great time staying at the lake cabin over the weekend. Everything was very clean and the cabin had plenty of space. Would recommend to any group looking for a nice place to stay.
Beautiful cabin that had everything we needed. Very good location with great fishing spots nearby. We had an amazing time, and the accommodations were absolutely perfect! The hosts were very friendly, and very quick to respond to any questions we had.
We look forward to our next stay here!
Very relaxing and a cozy cabin. Very well stocked cabin , has everything you would ever need. Just what we needed to get away for a couple days! Sweet hosts
Best communication I've had anywhere with renting a place to stay. Place was perfect, and not too far from fishing spots and lots of things to do a few kilometers in every direction. The mercantile was nice too got icecream. They place was stocked so if i forgot tinfoil or seasonings say, they had it. Thanks for the stay sorry we forgot the guestbook
Cabin was great and the hosts were outstanding, we were disappointed with the lake as we discovered it was more of a fishing lake, than a swimming lake. However, I would stay here again, we all had a fabulous time.
