"I’ve been coming to this Hotel location in Frankfurt even before it was called Avani for about 4 or 5 years. Once the hotel switched over I personally felt like I was not welcomed there although I stay there at least once a year for four days after my European tours with my band. The energy always cold and dark, not friendly at all for a repeat international customer. I’m not sure if it felt like that because I’m a black American but it was uncomfortable. I continued to come back because of the wellness center and location convenience. The main attraction was the sauna and steam room as well as the fitness center. For the last few years I booked my stay thru Expedia who would always reward me with free breakfast and room upgrades because I do a lot of booking with them, hotels, flights etc…Avani would honor the free breakfast but never the room upgrades and it bothered me to be honest. My recent stay May 2-6 was terrible because I book out at least 6 months in advance and when I got there the wellness center was permanently closed with the exception of fitness room because someone cracked the door going into the well center. I was frustrated and didn’t have the energy to get a refund to go to another hotel with a wellness center. I just decided that I’ll never stay there again. I could list many things wrong with this hotel but I won’t. "

"Unacceptable stay. Bed bugs in the room and cockroaches spotted during the night. Unable to sleep and reported immediately, but no alternative room was available, leaving me stuck in those conditions at 2am. Cleanliness is extremely poor and clearly not being managed to a basic standard. The surrounding area also feels unsafe with visible street disorder and anti-social behaviour, which significantly impacts the stay. Would not return and cannot recommend this property."
