"Was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Quiet, serene, definitely a vibe worth experiencing. The staff is overly friendly and helpful. If I only had to have one complaint is that while not healthy, the TV doesn't really work because of the poor Wi-Fi. Mostly just for feedback purposes but most people don't want a TV on this type of vacation."

"Absolutely wonderful stay! The house is even more beautiful than in the photos: spacious, extremely peaceful, very comfortable and perfectly located for exploring the area. Tulum, beaches, cenotes, archaeological sites and Playa del Carmen are all within easy reach, while the house itself is in a very quiet and relaxing setting.The house is very well equipped and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. A huge plus is the air conditioning throughout the entire house and in every bedroom – absolutely essential in the Tulum heat! We also really appreciated all the integrated high-tech features throughout the house, which made our stay even more comfortable. The huge projector screen was a particular favourite and we ended up using it every evening!The only very minor point is that the pots and pans are quite small for a house that can accommodate up to 8 people.We absolutely loved our stay at Xan Kari and would happily come back. A beautiful, modern and comfortable house, and a perfect base for exploring this part of the Yucatán !"

"Beautiful property in a gated community. The seaweed was pretty horrible but that is not the host’s fault. Hoping that something is figured out to help contain the seaweed for the future because it is a beautiful area. Beach was unusable. Perhaps a warning in the listing would help guests understand the situation. The listing stating white sand and crystal clear water could be misleading.It was a beautiful home but needs some updating. The sliding doors did not work well and were constantly breaking. Was hard to get in and out of pool area. Also, the stove was very difficult to use. Sometimes inoperable. Should probably get a new one. We had a chef come to the home one night and that issue affected the service.Putting those aside - the house was big and perfect for our party of 12. The house itself is very nice/clean and has lots of space. We made best of the seaweed situation and used the pool for several hours a day. The pool is fantastic! And cleaned everyday. The host and staff were wonderful and very communicative. There is a hotel within walking distance that has a small little beach club with great pizza that we spent lots of time visiting. Staff there is also amazing(they let us borrow board games to use at the house!). Would I visit again - yes. Would I research the sargassum before visiting? Yes. We had a great ten days in a beautiful country and made memories for a lifetime."

"If you are looking at Villa Vidorra for an upcoming vacation, just hit the book it now button. The property is incredible, but the staff is even better. Manuel and Angel create hands down the best meals…so difficult for us to choose our favorite. What we would give to be able to bottle up his salsas!!! Luis has such a welcoming aura. He made us endless drinks, not a single one disappointed us, and every time the drinks were delivered with a smile. He makes a refreshing cucumber water, that can also be utilized in a margarita. Vicky and Mariana keep all areas spotless inside and out. They are master of their craft as well and willing to help in any way. Julio was there early each morning to make sure the beach was ready for us. We did have sargasso on the beach during our visit but this never deterred us from hanging out at the shore or using the kayaks and paddle boards to go explore Soliman Bay. The water is stunning and so clear. Barbara was SO easy to work with, connected us with incredible people for transport, excursions and answered all our endless questions. Everything was lined up perfectly and seamlessly. We highly recommend the mariachi band…they were a wonderful treat and made our last night at the villa extra special and memorable."

"Property was gorgeous. Plenty of room for our group of 8. The sargassum was an issue but this not the fault of the host or the home. It was an historically bad year for the seaweed. We still had a great time. Samuel was a wonderful chef and every meal was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Highly recommend Casa Tortuga for families and friends. We all want to return during the off-season!"
