"This is the second time we have stopped here. Last time, great - no problems, but this time was awful. We arrived very late (06:00) due to delays. Check-in was fine as the day shift had started work! When we opened the room door, we were greeted with the most awful reek of cigarettes. The room just stank☹️. Obviously the hotel staff were aware of the problem as the window was left wide open. I can only imagine how much worse it would have been if we had checked in the day before and the window had not been open for many hours……. Breakfast was OK, but not as good as last time, with very little food available- and no croissants! The staff were friendly and welcoming, but we could have done without the “filthy old ashtray” atmosphere in the room. We had just travelled 400 miles and taken a ferry - all we wanted was a sleep in a clean and fresh smelling room!"

"Properly was absolutely stunning! Don’t expect all mod cons because it’s not a massive chain hotel. It is a simply lovely place to stop! The food is lovely! The staff are excellent and can accommodate your needs very easily. Highly recommend! "
