"Planned this trip with my two siblings and my sister in law and we are so happy we chose Massimo’s Villa! Massimo is a wonderful host and went above and beyond to accommodate us on a very late arrival time due to some airline delays. We should have arrived at 3pm but due to delays and being rerouted through Rome we did not arrive until 1am. Massimo’s suggestions for restaurants and winery visits were on point and setting us up with a Chef to cook dinner for us at the Villa made for a very memorable evening. Would not hesitate to stay at this property again! 5 Stars!!!"

"Paolo’s property was perfect for me and my family. It is clean, spacious and very well presented. It is a perfect location for exploring the Garfagnana region and close to plenty of local amenities. "The communication from Mike throughout was excellent. The property itself was spacious, well equipped and has several terraced areas, which are perfect for either a large family or 2 x families. Because it’s in the mountains the views are absolutely outstanding, we spent many evenings sipping wine and playing games on the terrace. The pool area is spacious with plenty of Sun loungers and there is a large parasol to give shade when needed. We did many a trip out but we especially enjoyed Lucca which is about 45 min away and Barga which is about 30 min away. The local shop ( down the mountain) has a reasonable supply of goods and lovely fresh bread. We also ate at Da Sandra’s which was very good and reasonable. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable holiday, which we didn’t want to end."

"We stayed for one week, two families meeting there from the UK and the other from Germany. We have done this a number of times over the years, in love with Tuscany, and each time we have stayed in a different property. This house is one of the best we have stayed in, it’s in a beautiful location, extraordinary views across the valley, beautiful at night actually, the pool is perfect, gorgeous gardens, many bedrooms and many bathrooms, and even two kitchens. So for the latter, the reason for this is that the house really consists of two apartments, one on one floor and the other on the floor below, but you can treat it as a normal house; in fact, the young people in our group, all the children, took the lower part of the house to themselves, and the rest of us in the top half which worked well, we always ate together in the upper part on the terrace, the beautiful terrace, compliments to the gardeners! The house is 20 minutes to Barga, 40 minutes to Lucca et cetera, I would advise not going much further at the valley in terms of distance from things, but this position is good. The villager is very pretty and very very quiet, apart from the sound of families, there is no shop I think, there did seem to be a restaurant, it’s striking how this village looks as though it’s been hewn from the mountain, somehow humans and nature in harmony, something that seems to have been temporarily lost in the modern world."

"The property is situated in a lovely area of outstanding beauty. Peaceful and very quiet. Pool and the Villa are amazing, clean and well looked after. small shops dotted around and cafes and restaurants to visit which are superb."

"We had an absolutely magical two weeks at Villa Rosa. The property was everything we expected from a true Italian Villa, authentic yet accommodating modern needs. The property is beautifully kept with a wonderful view, and the pool was lovely and so welcome during the heatwave. The owner, Charlie, was quick to respond to any concerns and very accommodating. The location is great, being close to Lucca (which we loved), as well as Firenze, Pisa and the beach. Our entire family from teens to grandma loved every minute. We can't wait return. I highly recommend a stay at Villa Rosa."
