"Staying at Ten-Yu was one of the highlights of my trip. The surroundings are beautiful and it feels very secluded but still simple to get to the main areas of hakone to explore. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming. The onsens are beautiful and felt like a well deserved treat. Free sparkling wine in the evening was an added bonus (along with free ice creams!). One night was not enough, I really hope to stay again. "

They picked us up from the train station and upon arrival at the hotel, a staff member discussed the amenities, use of the onsen and will answer any questions. The ryokan has a small outdoor onsen. Traditional Japanese breakfast and 12 course dinner are included in the room rate. Overall a wonderful stay."

" The hotel environment is absolutely extraordinary! Staff are nice and warm. The 2 included meals are delicious. The location is not at a convenient spot however there are shuttle services. If there is any imperfection, I would say the breakfast cafe seems a bit too crowded. I mean, the table arrangement is quite busy "

"This was amazing onsen beside the Yubatake (which is right in front on the hotel) so you are in the middle of the town they have Yukata you can borrow and take wear to walk and take pictures outside too. Breakfast and dinner had a lot of options and was really good. Make sure to Book Hal-Board, it is worth it! They have onsen eggs for breakfast too! "I expected more Japanese traditional ryokan, but it was not like that. It was more like a typical hotel with Yukata and Spa. Breakfast was great. The dinner option was okay, but as not as good as breakfast. "

"Extremely beautiful and wonderful spot to go to. Not a lot of food immediately around, but take a bus over to the station and you'll find a lot. Sadly not 5-stars because expedia markets this hotel for 2-6 people per room, but when you book a room, it only does so for 2, and on arrival you have to pay to have the other 4 stay as well. "

"100% perfect view of Fuji-san!! Short walk from Kawaguchiko Station and the route is generally flat and well lit at night. The property was very modern and minimalist. Room was clean but had some drain flies in the toilet. Very spacious and can easily fit four adults and luggage. Walls were not very sound-proof but was still acceptable. "
