Fox & Hounds Country Hotel

"Thoroughly recommend. Lovely rural part of Devon, the hotel is set in its own well maintained grounds, which is excellent for dog walking, our room was clean and comfortable, as was the breakfast and dining area which were both well set out, with plenty of space to accommodate dogs. Food was great, varied and plentiful. All staff were polite, efficient, and attentive, which helped to create a pleasant and chilled atmosphere."

"We had a lovely stay at the Linhay, as we have just come back as of yesterday 29th August 2026! The host was great with communication, and was very clear with instructions to get to the property! I would highly recommend to others as the beds and rooms were very comfortable, even one of my stepdaughters didn’t want to leave her comfortable bed in the mornings! We had a great time away. Ideal for a family friendly break away! Very clean property and worth the money also! Thank you for letting us stay!"

"Victoria House is a unique and fabulous property. We loved our 6 night stay. It's a good size for a family of 4 (with 2 teenage boys) Plenty of space and a huge lounge. We all had really good sized bed rooms with plenty of storage and comfy beds. And the ensuite bathroom in 2 of the rooms was perfect,so we all ended up with our bathroom.Kitchen had everything you needed,and lots of extras,tea,coffee,sugar,butter,kitchen towel,foil. All the things you don't necessarily want to buy for just a week,and forget to bring.And some lovely welcome gifts which the boys enjoyed. (And fizz which we appreciated) Very sensitive smoke detector in the kitchen that goes off everytime you use the toaster. So just make sure you turn on the extractor fan and open the back door.(a handy way to wake up the teenagers though)We visit Devon every year to see family and this was the most characterful house we have stayed in. And would definitely return."

"An extremely enjoyable stay. We had lovely walks through the grounds each morning and evening, we had an amazingly located sauna by the lake on the Saturday & Sunday early evening. We ventured out to some lovely local towns and villages and a very nice Sunday carvery at the Fox & Hounds Hotel. It is a very peaceful location and we will certainly return to stay, the owners left us some amazing treats which is the most generous we have ever encountered. We would highly recommend these cottages for a stay in North Devon."
