"Solar da Capela is very clean hospitable family hotel. They went out of their way to assist. We came to Sao Padro de Sul mainly for Thermal pools. We went to many places where we enjoyed thermal pools for a whole day, but this place only allow one hour at high price. This kills small hotel business. "The place was amazing. Excellent spot just on the river, beautiful building an pool area. Only thing that let it down was the service round pool was poor an took ages to get a drink. "
"Great location. Ironically the other negative I have was an interaction with another member in the shared laundry. Scolded foe transferring their laundry to the dryer from the washer after 20 min of waiting for that person to return to transfer themselves. Though the setting I placed at no heat and delicate tumble, the american woman scolded me with, "You NEVER move a woman's laundry to the dryer." Other than that, peaceful, pool is cold when the air is hot, great services(cafe, podcast booths, event space, meeting rooms, workspaces, etc). €120/night is not the Old Porto, neither is Porto. If connection is of your interest, this is a great space and located near Campanha station(Bus,Metro,Train). Kitchenette and refrigerator were just enough for two people. "
"Beautiful property in the beautiful Douro Valley with a nice pool. There is no winery on site, but it is in the middle of beautiful vineyards. You can go down the road to Pinhao or to St. Eufemia Winery for a tour. Breakfast was great and the staff was very accomodating. Great price for a beautiful stay. The property would benefit from some more outdoor leisure areas to sit peacefully and enjoy the view other than the balcony of your room or the pool/deck. Lenore at the desk was very nice and very helpful."
