"Rooms were refurbished to a high standard. Our room overlooked a very well maintained private garden by the river. Parking can be an issue but we got a place. Service and staff were very good at our dinner and breakfast. Our Trout dinner was fresh from the nursery close by. The full English breakfast was excellent."

It was a heat wave while we were there but the rooms were quite comfortable with cross breezes and electric fans. The restaurant was hot though, so we opted for the pub in Barrington beside the river instead. Everything was clean and the staff were lovely. It’s a bit noisy beside the road, but not too bad. We left too early for breakfast so they made up packed breakfasts for us too. Some of the alcoholic drinks in the mini bar are free too! Our room was sweltering both nights, even with 2 fans constantly on and the window open. At night when the temperature cooled down, the common areas were comfortable yet our room still felt like a sauna, making it difficult to sleep.
