"The pros: a flat, clean and very nice stretch of beach; the ocean is calm and very accessible and swimmable; the grounds are lovely and well kept; rooms are clean but outdated. The cons: organized activities are obnoxious (regular whistle blowing for volleyball and pool activities) and announcements over microphone. Walls of rooms are thin. The food is what you would expect for an all-inclusive, maybe less. It’s too bad. This place could be better with small changes and updates."

"Overall we enjoyed our stay (April 2026). We enjoy snorkelling so it was nice to be able to do that from the beach club. The location is great in that you can easily walk to town. We had no issue acquiring a beach chair for the day, though I think that was due to lower hotel occupancy at the time. The dining room was not overly busy and the food was good, although not a huge spread, we could always find something we liked to eat. I think if the hotel was at full capacity we likely would have found it too crowded as the beach club is not very big and there is only one dining room and one specialty restaurant (only open 3 evenings of the week), at least at the time we were there. The staff were all great and the hotel was very clean and well maintained."

"This is our 5th year returning to this hotel. Staff are so friendly and looking out for us. Breakfast every morning was great. Pool on roof was the best. New elevator being install as we left. We will be back. "

"Staff always excellent. Vicky, Fernando and Axel stood out and always went above and beyond. Inside bartenders were also very attentive. At gaviota for breakfast santiago worked non stop to ensure glasses were full and tables cleaned. THere is a reason we continue to return there"
