"One of the most immaculate, well located, cleanest, best appointed, amazingly-staffed hotels I have ever stayed in. I seriously cannot fault the place. All the staff were exceptionally polite and helpful and attentive, without being intrusive either. Everything in the hotel was pristine. I can genuinely say it was perfect."

"The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. This is our second stay and again found the service to be excellent. The room is clean and comfortable. The lounge/bar area and restaurant are first class. We had a handful of points that may be worth a mention here: Parking outside of the front of the hotel is charged at £20 for 24 hours. We chose to park in the adjacent council run parking area instead. Having previously stayed in a River View room and been very happy with it, we this time opted for a Castle View Double. Upon arrival, we realised that we were about as close as you could get to the railway line... You can close the windows to block out the noise but there is no aircon. Instead, the room is provided with a large fan. We were concerned that we would be too warm with the window closed but it was actually fine - we ended up leaving the window open for a while in the night as the trains were infrequent and even with the window closed, the fan did the job at keeping us cool enough. Great view of the castle though!!"

"Sadly the first room had scaffolding at the window due to works. The bathroom only had a bath. Staff quickly offered me another room which had a shower and more space. The rooms are a little dated. Lovely hotel. Staff very friendly. Evening meal was good but breakfast was a-bit of a let down. Would return."
