Ramada Tropics Resort & Conf Center by Wyndham Des Moines

Ramada Tropics Resort & Conf Center by Wyndham Des Moines

8/10 Good
"We’ve stayed here a number of times over the last 15 years. It’s definitely showing it age in some places. The pool area hasn’t changed at all. Parts of the pirate ship showing wear, hot tub desperately needs recoated inside. Paint is peeling & the water was far from pristine. Exterior room doors facing pool show age & slight mildew look from pool chemicals in the air & humidity. We’ll still continue to make trips here but would love to see some renovations to the great pool areas. The kids love going here! Breakfast was good nothing special. Waffles were made for us. Yogurt, fruit. No meat of any kind though. Pizza & chicken restaurant on site is good. One of the best pizzas I’ve had in a long time. Room was clean, our TV worked but the family with us next door couldn’t get theirs to show any channels. Needs updating to smart TVs. My two complaints - he blinds beside the doors facing pool. Get blackout curtains!! Or bring your own because the pool lights never go out & the blinds are old & let lots of light in. And we had to evacuate the hotel at 9:30 at night for fire alarms. We had NO one from staff come check on any of us out the back doors. Eventually we all just went back in after the alarms went off. No clue what happened, but an employee told my son it happens frequently."
