"The property was dirty with rusted shower head, broken lights, dirty shower tray, cigarettes in the toilet, marks on wall, open roof hatch, broken door and marked bedding. The room smelt strongly of smoke and the windows were dirty. We did not stay and had to find alternative accommodation. The bed could not be used as it was so dirty and the shower unsafe. I have stayed in basic hotels before but this was dirty, smelly and unsafe."

"Our street side first level room was appreciated for not requiring us to haul heavy luggage up steps. Convenience to historical sights, cafes and the fish market is a key reason to stay here. The owner was very communicative and willing to help if needed. Nightlife is noisy in Catania, but we slept well despite the noise.
