Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Punta Cana, Gourmet All Inclusive by Karisma

2/10 Terrible

"I’ve stayed at many all-inclusive resorts, and this was by far the worst one I’ve experienced in the Dominican Republic. Most drinks came with an extra charge, and the A/C in the rooms would not go below 73°F. My kids couldn't sleep sweeting, One employee even told us they keep it that way on purpose to avoid high power bill. They offer 24 hours room service and everyday we tried ordering food for our girls and they never came. The bathroom was dirty and broken, the buffet food was terrible, and the protein options were very disappointing — one day it was only salmon, and another day an extremely chewy, hard steak. The staff was rude and not helpful at all, which was shocking because customer service at Dominican all-inclusive resorts is usually amazing. On top of that, they offer you breakfast with the characters in exchange for attending a “20-minute” presentation, but they pressure you into staying for hours trying to sell you a membership. Every time you say no, they send another, even more aggressive salesperson. Overall, it was a terrible experience and definitely not worth the price."

Dreams Onyx Resort & Spa All Inclusive

"This was our first time to Dominican Republic and the dreams onyx hotel was absolutely great. We didn’t realize booking through Expedia we would have a dedicated concierge and boy was he fabulous. Breilin was available most of the day for anything we needed. Towels or drinks for the room? He did It. Making sure our transportation back to PUJ airport done. Bell boys to bring down our luggage? He made everything happen. Breilin truly made our stay easy and welcoming!"

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana All-Inclusive Resort

"It would have been helpful if upon check in that staff told us the steak restaurant was closed during our stay, and that some restaurants were on “rotation” which mean some nites they could be open, and others they could close. You don’t know till that day. Staff was very polite, helpful and cheery. Grounds were maintained . I suggest a swim out room. Only 20 dollars more, it was nice to just open your sliders have a patio and have pool right there. Also there’s no elevators so ground floor is the way to go. 4 stars"

Live Aqua Punta Cana - All Inclusive - Adults Only

6/10 Okay

"Hotel is beautiful and room was perfect. Since the property is not too large everything is convenient and close by. The spa was wonderful. There was a lot of seaweed on the beach but by thats part of traveling to the Caribbeand and by our last day they had cleaned a large part of it, plus the pools made up for it. Food was ok with some major fails in the italian restaurant (plase remove the gnocchi from the menu, it’s atrocious). The staff needs MAJOR training on customer service and hospitality. The only two redeeming stars were Confesor by the pool and Gerson in the French restaurant. They went above and beyond to make the experience a great one but they cant do it on their own when the people making the drinks or the food are not doing their part. As a born and raised Dominican now living abroad for the past 20 years I want to see the greatness of my people shine through but when I dont see it in tourism and hospitality, the one activity we take the most pride on and which is also sustaining the country’s economy, it makes me sad when I see this. Hopefully these are only growing pains and they’re working on better training the staff. In the meantime, please dont portray yourselves as a 5-star hotel."
