"This was by far one of the worst places I have stayed jn a very long time! If I hadn't been so tired from a 30hr day including a 9hr drive, I would have left to find something better. The door frame was swollen and damaged due to weather and age that the door had to be forced shut and to open it, you had to meditate like Goko to go super to rip it open. The room had a disgusting smell to it. The bed was filthy with dirt, crumbs, and hair top and bottom within the sheets/blanket/pillows. The bed...

"Property is very dated and in need of maintenance. That said, the room was nice and clean and well maintained. When we arrived the bathroom light was out. It was repaired quickly after we reported the issue. Breakfast was better than expected, waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, muffins, fruits. Staff was friendly and helpful."

"The Oakdale Inn is our favorite place to stay while in southern Virginia. The Inn is wonderful, the rooms comfortable, the breakfast is very enjoyable, and the location is very convenient to anything that you're doing in the area. The Innkeeper (Erin) is a fantastic and helpful aspect of your experience, too. Highly recommended!!"

"Very sad old hotel that is in great need of repairs and upgrades. There were 2 beds in the room, one was hard as a board and the other was way too soft. Wallpaper coming down, carpet badly stained, unrepaired damage in bathroom, etc. Desk clerk was very nice."

I was looking for a quiet space to decompress before a funeral, and this home provided just that. The setting was secluded, peaceful, and spotless—more than enough in every way. I’m truly grateful for the comfort and care I found here."
