AMANE RESORT SEIKAI

Shoningahamacho

10/10 Excellent

Shiosai no yado Seikai is an outstanding onsen/hotel in Beppu. From arrival to departure the staff, including Mr. Ohkubo, provided exceptional hospitality and service. Our room was upscale spacious, clean, modern and equipped with all the amenities that the most demanding guest would want. The furo/spa facilities were clean and well stocked with needed supplies. The food and restaurants in the hotel are excellent and can cater to any diner's needs. Shiosai no yado Seikai is an outstanding...

Gekkoju Kurokawa

Kurokawa Onsen

10/10 Excellent

It was the perfect gateway into our Ryokan/onsen experience with beautiful & spacious accommodations in a super private and relaxing setting. Having our own onsen with view of the mountains was an absolute dream after a week in the big cities. The attentive staff were exceptional and brought dinner to our room that we cooked over the coals for a unique experience. Overall an incredible retreat to come back to after a busy day of onsen hopping. Truly a first class experience!

Yasuragi no Yado Yufu

Kannawa

10/10 Excellent

The staff was excellent and the food/meals were amazing. The seki saba and aji sashimi as well as the bungo beef were delicious and a must try. We really enjoyed that you get to use one of the four onsen for yourself/your party for 1 hour, just make sure you go at the designated time slot and the onsen you chose. There is English intructions to help you use the amenities as well as an explanation of the inn and their areas. The only issue is we found mold growing in the AC which we did use...

A traditional Japanese onsen with a wooden roof and stone surroundings.

Hotel Beppu Pastoral

Higashisoen

10/10 Excellent

I have stayed in 12 hotels on this trip, and this is the friendliest, with the kindest staff. I needed an extra pillow and they brought it to my room within a few minutes, they got me a taxi for my bus out of town, they had better then usual English understanding and treated me very well. The property is a little old, and I noticed the other guests were mostly older people (I’m 44, most the others were over 60) so it is not a hotel for having a party, but for a high quality nights sleep, I...
