We loved this hotel! It was way more than we expected. The food was excellent & menu choices were great. The pub area was lively & fun. The owners & staff went above & beyond to accommodate our every need. The breakfast was outstanding & they have the best coffee. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. The town is very well located & a short driving distance to many attractions in the area.

Myself and my partner had the most wonderful stay, it’s nice and rural but not too far anyway from anything. The property is modern but feels country, it’s really smart. All of the staff were lovely and couldn’t do enough for us! We will definitely being going back, thank you so much..

Our host was delightful. He answered all our questions about Wales and football. The food was so good, both dinner and breakfast. I especially liked the new potatoes.

Really enjoyed our room in the Castle View. Dining was a bit too formal for our tastes.

This review is from an American's perspective. Our first UK/Wales trip. This is a class operation. It is a country house, not a hotel. All rooms were different, very nicely appointed and roomy; comfortable beds. No in-room safe. I don't have any reference from other country houses. But in my opinion, five stars all the way. Common spaces were great. Very nice conservatory, glass on all sides. Formal living room with plenty of seating. Huge, manicured grounds. This is out in the country. Quiet....

Secluded yet accessible location, lovely furnishings, elegant bathroom, extremely comfortable room, excellent service, fine dining. I would certainly recommend and return if I came back to this area. Top marks!

Our stay was truly wonderful from start to finish. The venue itself is absolutely stunning—rich in history and full of character—and the gardens are simply breathtaking. Being able to walk down to the River Usk and wander for miles through the open fields was such a special experience. The staff was friendly. Hotel was very clean. Room was very clean and well maintained. Good meals. Free parking. FYI --There was no refrigerator nor iron in the room.

Sam was so nice and welcoming and gave us a bunch of recommendations to see, do, and eat. The room was very comfortable with a cute view over the town to the water. Shops and restaurants are withing easy walking distance of 5-10 minutes. Breakfast was delicious and they even had a vegetarian option! Would love to stay again

Room was large and beds and pillows very comfortable. We had a nice meal for dinner. Breakfast was included and I had the best scrambled eggs ever. Portions are large and were offered fresh fruit and cereal as well. It was a little cool but in nice weather they have nice outdoor dining and drink area. Very happy with our stay. Friendly staff.
